Documentum Birthday Pledge – Because Everyone Deserves Clean Water

Many of us have no idea what it's like not to have clean water. We have plenty of clean water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

That's why we're making a birthday pledge for the month of June and asking all of our friends, families, partners, and customers to donate Documentum’s age ($24, $240, or any amount) to bring clean water and more birthdays to those who need it most. What better way to celebrate EMC Documentum's Birthday than by making a donation to help a great cause!

Here's how you can get involved...
• Donate! Donate Documentum's age ($24, $240, etc.) or year of birth ($19.90, $199, $1990) to say "Happy Birthday" and help EMC IIG reach the goal of $24,000 by the end of June. Donate your age in dollars to support the cause.

• Learn! Stat: Did you know that in Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year walking for water? Stat: By 2050, the world's population is estimated to grow by three billion and 90% will be in the developing world. Unless sustainable water solutions are scaled fast, regions already stressed for water sources will be over capacity. Stat: Clean water alone can reduce water-related deaths by 21%. • Walk in Their Shoes! EMC challenged employees to take the water walk. See why it's not as easy as it looks (http://on.fb.me/1kDpOO2)! Don't have a jerry can? Take a picture of something that weighs 40lbs (15-foot canoe; 3-year-old child; 5 gallons of milk; 1g bag of pet food) and share it with your social channels (see "Share with Us").

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
