For 696 million people, access to safe, clean drinking water is a challenge.
On average, women and children in developing countries walk up to 6 kms per day to collect water. Even then, it’s often unclean, leading to poor sanitation, sickness, and even death.
Beyond health, poor access to water keeps children from school, parents from working and women from empowerment.
I want to help them. So, I'm donating my body in support of Charity Water by signing up to the world's largest cross country race in Sweden - Lidingöloppet. Its 30 km of up and down hill running - about the same distance as 1 out of 52 weeks collecting water.
My aim is to raise €3000 - that's €100 for every km run or €30 euro from 100 supporters. That amount equals clean water for a lifetime for around 85 people.
100% of every donation raised will fund water charity projects: providing access to clean water around the world.
It's going to take a lot of hours training, so it would mean a lot if you could give in support. That way I'll be doing the running distance but you'll be donating to help reduce the distance it takes for women and children to get clean, safe water and help Charity Water end the global crisis.
Great cause James. Keep pounding the pavement!

After a week and a bit with an injury I plan to start upping my training and kms for charity:water. But without running so much the past week I added a bit of fun by asking people to donate to remove my moustache. I'm almost there to my first milestone of $500 so thank you again for all the support and helping charity:water end the water crisis across the developing world.
