On average, $40 brings clean water to one person.
No matter which side you’ve taken in the battle of opinions, equitable access to clean water is one thing we can all agree on. And yet, 703 million people — more than twice the population of the United States — live without clean water.
Will you help at least one person gain access to clean water by joining The Spring, our monthly giving community?
By giving $3 and change every month, you can bring transformational change to one person every year. Have more room in your budget? See how much more of a difference you can make.
Thanks to generous private donors who fund our operational expenses, 100% of your donation directly funds clean water projects.

With access to clean water, Mary suddenly had access to more time. She used it to start growing sesame seeds, then used the income to buy a goat. She plans to expand her herd and is also, casually, building an entire new home for her family.
“[Before], I didn’t have time to think about or imagine [the future] because most of the things we wanted needed water. We could only think about water.”
- Mary
Richard’s community in northern Uganda was once a rural home to hundreds. But over the past 12 years, thanks to the steady flow of clean water, it has transformed into a bustling center of commerce.
“The water point came. Building and construction followed. Then electricity came. And now businesses continue to boom.”
- Richard
Access to clean water also means improvements to sanitation and hygiene. For Fungai, that meant being the first person in her community to build a toilet — and inspiring her community to follow her lead.
“People talk about what is happening here. Whenever people gather, we say, ‘This is the awesome activity happening in our community.’ We spread the gospel of sanitation and hygiene.”
- Fungai
For Sarmila, less time spent collecting water meant more time for school, an essential pathway to her dream of becoming a teacher. She’s currently studying in a city several hours away, but she doesn’t plan to stay there. Her goal has always been to return home and empower the next generation of students.
“I would tell younger girls that you have to study hard because there’s nothing greater than education. If we work hard, we’ll definitely secure a bright future.”
- Sarmila
Becoming part of our monthly giving community, The Spring, puts you in a special category of supporters. Along with helping more people get clean water each month, giving regularly means that we can count on your support — and that means better projections and investments, which support the long-term sustainability of our work.
Bonus: You’ll join forces with a pretty incredible group of humans who prove that we don’t have to agree on everything to agree on one thing: Everyone deserves access to clean water.
A year from now, you can know that no matter what else happened — no matter who won the Olympics or the election or the school bake sale — you changed everything for someone by giving clean water. You did what you could to make a tangible difference in the world, all other differences aside.
And isn’t that the kind of world we all want to live in?
Let’s make it a reality.
